8/22/03 We are on familiar terrain. We've done this hike many times before with daypacks and once with our backpacks. In 2001 we hiked this trail the day before September 11th. We recalled how we looked out from Molly Stark's Balcony over that peaceful green scene and counted our blessings, with no idea of the tragedy to come. Our hike today is one of remembrance of 9/11.
