8/22/03 When we got to the balcony our familiar view was shrouded in a haze. We wondered if Molly and Michaela, "Two Girls From Vermont," also stopped by to look over Huntington Gap and gaze toward their homes. Molly Stark's Balcony is the destination of our traditional last hike each summer and we have spent many moments here in quiet contemplation bidding farewell to Vermont for the winter. But not today! We took a break, talked about 9/11 and other things, and ate a snack before continuing on.
