8/14/03 These puncheons were skinny and well worn. We are in the sag between Boyce and Battell mountains. When we encounter rotted puncheons this bad our first impulse is to see if there is a way to avoid using them without damaging the surrounding woods or widening the trail that leads to more erosion.
