7/24/03 We crossed the Hell Hollow Brook on a wooden bridge, stomped over a rock path, and across puncheons that seemed to go on for miles. One time Tumble came around a bend and saw more of them and muttered, "It had to be puncheons." We met a SoBo hiker who had camped nearby in the woods and was heading for "somewhere in the Carolinas" on a "spiritual journey." We wished him well.
