7/25/03 A cold, cold night. We awoke in a heavy damp mist to discover that Nightwalker had left long before us. Only our noses were peeking out of our sleeping bags. Our stirring disturbed a shrew sleeping under the foot of Rough's sleeping bag on the outside of the "mouse" net. He scampered up the wall and out of site. This was the "turnaround" shelter for Rough. The pain in his neck was abating, there was plenty of room in the shelter, and it was clean and quiet.
