7/25/03 A trailside view. The woods were wet and lush green, with the dampness and decaying leaves and logs permeating the air. In the stillness we could hear the water dropping off of the leaves into the undergrowth. We felt like visitors passing through one of the forest stages during its continuing life cycle of growth and decay, old and new, light and dark.
