Resupply Pickup at Jonesville Post Office | ||
8/25/03 Next we stopped at the Jonesville post office. What a relief when the postal clerk found our box and handed it over the counter to us. And then what a surprise at how heavy it was. It contained food and re-supplies for six days. But before we could go through it we had to take care of our stove problem.
Rough called Climb High in Burlington about thirty miles away and explained our problem. Ted said he had the equipment we needed. Then Rough explained we had no wheels. Ted offered to deliver our purchase to us at the PO. What a relief. Now that's what we call service. So while we waited for Ted Tumble walked down the road to a nearby country store and got us some snacks and lemonade. While we snacked, a couple from Florida pulled up to get their mail and we had a pleasant conversation with them. Ted came with our equipment around 12:15pm. He asked us where we were headed and Rough told him we would be staying at Mama Bower's in Richmond, about four miles away. Ted offered to drop us off on his way back to the store. There's magic in the air once again.
