8/17/03 We picked our way along the rocks and roots and mud down Stark. The first (of two) ladders just south of Stark's Nest was missing. With the erosion and missing roots formerly used for handles, the descent was very tricky. We had to take off our packs, hand them down ahead of us, and help each other down. Let's give Tumble a 10.0.
