8/27/03 We ate breakfast in the shelter with Jack and said 'bye to him as he headed back up the spur to the trail. We were feeling very tired and our packs were feeling particularly heavy. Maybe the dampness is adding to our weight. We got on the trail ourselves at 8:20am, later than we wanted. We hiked a mile up to Harrington's View and then a long zigzag trail of an unnamed summit. A group of ten cheerful young hikers greeted us and then stepped aside as we met them on the trail.
