8/28/03 It was a cold, cold, cold night. We awoke tired and achy. Rough's neck was sore and his knee stiff from the previous day's fall. Temps were in the low 40s with the wind still blowing fiercely. Outside the tent visibility was barely 50 feet through a heavy mist. We bundled up in all our warm clothes and broke camp in our mittens and fleece caps. We were on the trail by 8:20am.
