7/29/03 We hiked down to the puncheon lined shore of Griffith Lake. We were tired. Tumble set up the tent on a platform and Rough filtered water. The caretaker wasn't around and all the other platforms were empty. Tumble hung our food bag and made dinner. The mosquitoes were so thick we could only eat by stringing the bug net over our ski poles and eating under it. We gagged down our dinner and went to bed early. It was eerily quiet and creepy in the wilderness and we were alone.
