8/1/03 A gaze back down toward VT 103 and Clarendon Gorge. Just after our snack Tumble realized she'd left her shoulder pads in Ernie's truck or in the country store. They protect her shoulders from bruising and chaffing by her pack's shoulder straps. A lady in the parking lot drove her back to the Whistle Stop to see if Ernie was eating breakfast there and to the country store, but no luck. The lady even offered to drive her to Ernie's work!
