9/4/03 Thunder and lightning kept us entertained during the night. By morning the rain had stopped, but we weren't looking forward to another day of hiking in wet woods. Brent and Lisa from CO decided to take our recommendation and headed for Nye's Green Valley Family Farm B&B. We were on the trail by 8am and facing a steep, slippery climb up Butternut Mtn. The birch forest was laced with a silvery mist.
