Route 73: Brandon Gap | ||
8/8/03 Over the past eighteen days we have become more efficient with our gear and can pack up and get out of camp with the best of them. We left Sunrise Shelter at 8:15am. Tumble was beside herself with joy. Although her shoes were still a little wet, her socks and feet were dry. We almost floated down the trail. As much as we'd like to get off the trail for a rest we decided to wait until we get to Sucker Brook Shelter, hopefully by 2pm, and assess our strength for going on to Middlebury Gap where we can hitch a ride to the Sweet Onion Inn. With that as our incentive we quickly hiked the .9 mile to VT 73 and our feet and pant legs were wet within the first five minutes. Rats! |
