9/5/03 We walked through pleasant woods to Rte 118, but rain was threatening so we scurried across the road and back into the forest to climb Belvidere Mountain and meet one of our least favorite trails, logging roads. There is current logging on the lower portion of Belvidere, lots of heavy equipment, and churned up trail from big wheels. We grumbled as we traversed mud pits in big wheel tracks and climbed over fallen logs. A little further on we stopped to admire an interesting mushroom colony.
