Sweet Onion Inn . . . Not!
Sweet Onion Inn . . . Not!

8/10/03 Later that day, Kathy, the Sweet Onion innkeeper, called to say she was away for the weekend, but that Ron had been at the inn when we were there. Although we have stayed at the inn before, talked to them every week for several weeks about our trip, dropped off a box with our arrival date penned on it and an attached note confirming our arrival date, and talked to Ron the night before our departure, she denied any knowledge of our plans. She also denied knowing how their inn got listed in the Long Trail End-to-Ender's Guide and said it shouldn't be in there. When Tumble asked if she should tell other hikers and bikers to avoid her inn Kathy said, "That would probably be a good idea. We're not that kind of inn." So, hikers and bikers beware. The Sweet Onion Inn in Hancock is not hiker friendly or reliable. However, we highly recommend the Old Hancock Inn across the street.
